Exam questions, not past papers

The site said past paper questions in places where what you actually get is an exam-style question with a full mark scheme. The wording now matches the thing, on the homepage, in About, and in the description search engines show.

About, rewritten

The About page now says what Baccly is, why it exists, what is actually in it, and what it costs, with real numbers rather than claims.

Pages that describe themselves

Every page now carries its own title and description, so a search result shows what the page is instead of just the site name. The booklets page, the calendar guide, five of the tools and the question bank subject pages had none at all.

Equations no longer vanish during a paper

One second into a paper the clock ticked, the page redrew, and every rendered equation was replaced by its raw source. Equations are now written in a way the page cannot undo, and one equation failing to render no longer takes the rest of the page with it.

A quieter look across the site

Typography, spacing and hierarchy are consistent everywhere now, with less decoration and fewer boxes competing for your attention. The colours are unchanged.

A header that shows the whole site

Practice, Study and Tools group everything Baccly does, so you can reach any page from any page instead of guessing where something lives. On a phone the menu opens full screen.

Try a question before you sign up

The homepage now has a real IB question you can actually answer, in Mathematics, Sciences, or Individuals and Societies, with the mark scheme and where each mark is awarded.

Theory of Knowledge

A TOK section of its own: the six May 2027 essay titles, each with what it is really asking, the terms you have to pin down, and the knowledge questions worth building on. All 35 exhibition prompts sit alongside.

Calendar export, every reasonable way in

Add your deadlines to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook.com or Outlook for work or school, subscribe to a feed that keeps itself up to date, or download them as an .ics or .csv.

The whole screen for a paper, and the booklet beside it

Sitting a paper now hides the sidebar so the paper has the screen to itself. The booklet opens in a panel next to the question rather than on top of it, the way it sits on the desk in the real exam.

Articles and guides, rewritten

The articles were far too long to be useful. They are shorter, specific to the IB, and laid out to be read rather than skimmed. The 12 subject guides now have their own searchable index and a page each.

Dashboard rebuilt

The cards are back, arranged so the things you act on sit at the top. The study chart draws properly now instead of showing an empty box.

One footer everywhere

Every page ends the same way: the full set of links on the public pages, a slim version inside the app. Footers no longer slide under the sidebar or strand themselves halfway up a short page.

The booklet reader

Opening a booklet could crash the page or leave it unusably slow, because every page of the PDF was drawn at once. It renders one page at a time now, and closing it no longer throws an error.

Changes appear when they ship

The app was serving a cached copy of itself, so a new version could stay invisible until you cleared your browser data. It now updates when it should.

Page transitions removed

Moving between pages no longer animates itself in. It made the site feel slower than it is.

Import your deadlines from a file

Subscribing to a calendar feed only helps if your school publishes one. You can now import an .ics, .ical or .csv export straight from your computer: Baccly reads the events, shows you what it found, and you tick which ones become deadlines. Anything already in your tracker is filtered out, and dates that have passed are listed but left unticked.

Economics booklet flagged

The Economics formulae are marked as not permitted in the examinations - you are given no booklet in Economics, so those formulae have to be memorised.

Simpler booklets page

One row of subjects, one card, and the document. Page count and file size sit next to the title, and Download, fullscreen and save are one row of buttons.

Paper Simulator

Sit a full paper in one continuous sitting: the real duration and mark total for your subject, level and paper, assembled from the question bank. Mark schemes stay hidden until you hand in, the clock runs whether the tab is open or not, and what you mark yourself down on comes back through spaced repetition.

Data and formula booklets, rebuilt

The booklets page now reads the booklet in place rather than linking you off to it: the document fills the page under its own header, with the SL/HL or edition switch, page count and file size, Download, and a fullscreen view. Booklets are grouped into formula and data, because the two are used differently.

Your booklet during the paper

The Paper Simulator keeps your subject's data or formula booklet one tap away while you sit the paper and while you mark it, the way it sits on the desk in the real exam.

Pick units for a mock paper

A real paper can ask anything on the syllabus, which is no use in November. Choose the units you have actually covered and the simulator builds the paper from those, keeping the real timing and mark total.

False maths-rendering alerts

The check that watches for equations failing to render was reading the MathJax configuration script as page text, so every page looked like it had broken maths. It now only looks at what is actually on screen.

Equations render properly across the site

Question titles containing maths were showing raw LaTeX - stray backslashes, braces, and missing minus signs. Titles are now parsed properly, so vectors, fractions, powers, subscripts, and Greek letters read as maths everywhere they appear: the question bank, search results, and your saved questions.

Pick a unit in Timed Questions

Choose a subject and then a specific unit, so you can run a timed session on just the topic you're revising instead of the whole subject.

Timed sessions are saved

Finished sessions are now kept to your account. The setup screen shows your last five, with average time per question, so you can see whether you're actually getting faster.

Questions you time out on now count

Running out of time on a question left it out of your results entirely. Timed-out questions are now recorded like any other.

Study streak survives the night

Your streak was reset to zero at midnight and only reappeared once you studied again. It now holds until a full day passes with nothing logged, and shows in the header on every page - amber when today is still missing.

Clearer newsletter and search pages

Newsletter signup now tells you what actually went wrong instead of a generic error, and page titles were added for the score calculator, citation tool, reviews, study groups, and study timer.

Discord update notifications

Baccly now posts update announcements directly to Discord, including a role ping for the updates channel.

Syllabus checklist now saves your progress

Checked topics now persist across page refreshes and navigation — your progress is no longer lost when you leave the page.

Guides added to sidebar

IB subject guides are now one click away from the sidebar under the Learn section.

Login takes you back where you were

Opening a shared link while logged out now returns you to that exact page after signing in, instead of dumping you on the dashboard.
